E Ink® screen
One of the best features of this Sony ebook reader is its patented E Ink® screen. It’s better than LCD and computer screens that are backlit, and is as easy on the eyes as printed paper. So not only is eye strain reduced, you can use it comfortably in bright sunlight without worrying as there’s no glare.
You will find it just as easy to read on the beach, as you do when you’re in bed or commuting.
In-built MP3 player
It doesn’t come with earphones, but you can play you music while you read. This makes the Sony PRS505 perfect for drowning out tannoys and loud people on trains, when you’re engrossed.
Great battery life
The Sony PRS-505 has an impressive battery life, allowing you to make an incredible 6,800 page turns on just one charge.
There are two ways to charge the Sony ereader. It comes with a USB cord so you can charge it from your computer. It takes about 4 hours for it to full charge, and you’re unable to read while it’s charging. Another option is to buy a charger separately. This will charge in just 2 hours from a mains electrical supply and you can continue reading while it charges.
Easy to use
Another great feature is the ability to change the font size of books to suit you, or your level of myopia or hyperopia. An added benefit is that you can turn the display to a horizontal or vertical format, whichever suits you.
Loading books onto the Sony ebook reader is relatively simple. Once they are on, there are various ways you can sift through your book collection to find the one you want. For instance, you can search according to ‘date added’, author’s first name, and title or collection names.
